About Us

We are a small family-owned business with our roots growing out of Saskatchewan agriculture. Dryland Fisheries began operations as a trout hatchery in 2015, mainly raising fingerlings for dugout and pond stocking. In 2024, after multiple expansions and improvements to our capacity and filtration, we were able to raise our first batch of fish to plate size. Dryland Fisheries expanded into the sustainable, local, butchered fish market with an eye on maintaining and always improving quality. In 2026, Prairie Sky Fish was created as a sister company to Dryland Fisheries. This helped create a division between the sale of live fingerlings for the stocking market (Dryland Fisheries), and the butchered and processed fish ready for human (and pet!) consumption (Prairie Sky Fish). This was a branding decision to help our customers focus on the products most of interest to them.
